Study Type:
CT CHEST/ ABDOMEN/ PELVIS
Clinical History:
Fall, injury. PT became diaphoretic. V/D. Decreased BP
Preliminary Findings:
There is a type A aortic dissection. There is a moderate sized
hemopericardium. The dissection extends
into the abdominal aorta. The distal
extent of the dissection is difficult to visualize due to suboptimal contrast
opacification of the aorta. The
dissection probably extends below the renal arteries. There is infarction involving the medial
aspect of the left kidney.
Interesting Finding:
Type A aortic dissection
Resultant hemopericardium
